Care and
Maintenance
WARNING
Risk of injuries during maintenance work
¾
Please observe the safety notes on care and
maintenance!
¾
Turn off the tractor and machine and secure
it against reactivation. Lock manual control
units in the locked position.
¾
Secure the machine against lowering and
unexpected movements.
¾
Staying under unsecured raised machine
parts is prohibited.
¾
Carry out maintenance work on raised machine
parts only if they are mechanically supported
with suitable means.
¾
The pneumatic system components may
come into contact with dressed seed and
fertiliser. Wear personal protective outfit when
cleaning. Avoid contact with escaping air.
¾
Secure machine parts against falling when
dismantling them.
Your machine has been designed and built to
offer maximum performance, economy and
operator friendliness under a vast variety of
operating conditions.
Before delivery the machine was inspected at
the factory and by your dealer to make sure
that it is in optimal condition. For trouble-free
operation it is very important to carry out the
necessary work for care and maintenance at
the recommended intervals.
Cleaning
When performing cleaning work, you should
always wear the necessary protective outfit to
protect your health and safety.
NOTE
¾
Do not clean electrical components, all hy-
draulic cylinders and bearings with a high
pressure cleaner or a direct water jet. Hous-
ings, screw fittings and bearings are not
waterproof under high pressure.
¾
Thoroughly clean hopper and fertiliser equip
-
ment. Fertiliser is aggressive and speeds up
the corrosion process. It especially attacks
galvanised components like bolts.
¾
Empty the seed and fertiliser hopper.
¾
Clean the seed hopper with compressed air.
¾
Close fertiliser hopper and seed hopper.
¾
Clean the outside of the machine with water.
¾
Empty and disassemble the metering units
(single grain), clean with compressed air and
brush and check for wear. Do not clean with
water!
¾
Clean metering unit (fertiliser), distributor and
hoses of the fertiliser equipment, leave the fall
sluice open for drying.
¾
Open the cleaning covers on the drill frame
and clean the frame thoroughly with com-
pressed air. The frame serves the purpose
of a vacuum distributor, seed and dressing
residues may therefore be present.
