Downpipe
After the grain transfer in the metering unit
the grain drops through the downpipe into the
ground.
The sensor is the basis for monitoring the drilling
process. The sensor detects each grain and
reports it to the computers.
These evaluate the data and times between
grain signals and use this information to calcu-
late the variation coefficient (drilling accuracy),
faults and double seeds.
Downpipe and sensor must therefore be cor-
rectly installed and fastened.

Installing the downpipe
The spigot on the downpipe fastens the down-
pipe on the drill unit.

¾
Plug in the top locking bolt and secure it with
a cotter pin (2).
¾
Route the sensor cable behind the cable
routing (3).
If correctly assembled, the downpipe sits tightly
in the opening. It does not touch the trap roller.
WARNING
Risk of accident
¾
Secure the machine against lowering and
unexpected movements.
¾
Staying under unsecured raised machine
parts is prohibited.
¾
Carry out work on raised machine parts only if
they are mechanically supported with suitable
means.
¾
Check the correct installation on the drill unit
from underneath.
