Fork tube bushing/slider bushing/back-up ring
Visually inspect the slider and fork tube bushings.
Replace the bushings if there is excessive scoring or
scratching, or if the teflon is worn so that the copper
surface appears on more than 3/4 of the entire sur-
face.
Check the back-up ring; replace it if there is any dis-
tortion at the points shown.
ASSEMBLY
Before assembly, wash all parts with a high flash or
non-flammable solvent and wipe them dry.
Remove the burrs from the bushing mating surface,
being careful not to peel off the coating.
Install the new fork tube bushing being careful no to
damage the coating of the bushing if it has been
removed.
