Starting and
Operating
New Vehicle Break-In
Caution
Use the following guidelines to
improve vehicle performance and
longevity:
.
Do not drive at any one
constant speed, fast or slow,
for the first 800 km.
.
Do not make full-throttle
starts and avoid
down-shifting to brake or
slow the vehicle.
.
Avoid making hard stops for
the first 350 km or so.
During this time the new
brake linings are not yet
worn-in. Hard stops with
new linings can result in
premature wear and earlier
replacement.

Follow this guideline every
time new brake linings are
fitted.
Ignition Positions
The vehicle has an electronic
keyless ignition with push-button
start.
Pressing the ENGINE START/STOP
button cycles through three modes:

Accessory
.
Ignition on, Engine Start / Run
.
Engine Stop, Ignition off
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter must be in the vehicle for
the system to operate.
If the push-button start is not
working, the vehicle may be near a
strong radio antenna signal causing
interference to the keyless entry
system. See

When the vehicle is stopped, press
the ENGINE START/STOP button
once to turn the ignition off.

If the vehicle is in P (Park), the
ignition will turn off and Retained
Accessory Power (RAP) will
remain active. See

If the vehicle is not in P (Park),
the ignition will return to
Accessory mode and display the
message
Shift To Park
in the
Driver Information Centre (DIC).
