Stripe Hog Systems
Always comply with local guidelines and state law
when dumping recovered water and debris.
WARNING
IF A DEBRIS BAG IS USED AND NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY
IT MAY NOT RELEASE PROPERLY DURING DUMPING. THIS
COULD CAUSE THE LINER TO SEPARATE FROM THE DEBRIS
TANK, DAMAGING THE TANK AND/OR CAUSING PERSONAL
INJURY.
WARNING
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONNEL ARE WELL
CLEAR OF THE TRUCK AND THE DEBRIS TANK DOOR WHEN
DUMPING OPERATIONS ARE IN PROCESS. NEvER ROCK
OR JERK THE TRUCK BACK AND FORTH TO DISLODGE
MATERIAL STUCK IN THE DEBRIS TANK. THIS CAN CAUSE
THE HYDRAULIC RAM AND/OR OTHER COMPONENTS
TO FAIL WHICH COULD RESULT IN SEvERE INJURY TO
PERSONNEL AND SEvERE DAMAGE TO THE UNIT.
2.9 Remote Blasting Tool Connection
General
When an optional Ground Hog is connected to the
auxiliary connections, the water blasting electrical
system senses that the tool is connected and the
levers on the tool can control Ultra-High Pressure
water to the blast head and hydraulic fluid flow
to the spray bar thru-shaft motor. The truck hy-
draulic system provides the hydraulic power that
rotates the spray bar on the tool. The skid UHP
pump and vacuum system provides water pres-
sure and vacuum.
Control Harness Connection
An electrical harness that runs from the outlet
plug on the skid to a plug on the tool connects the
control switch levers on the tool with the water
blasting control systems on the skid. Once the
harness is connected, the operator can control
the high pressure water and hydraulic systems
on the tool blast head using the control switch
levers on the tool.
Hydraulic Connection
Hydraulic hoses with quick disconnect fittings are
connected from the tool to the skid hydraulic sys-
tem at the tool connection. The hydraulic control
lever on the tool provides the operator with full
control of the hydraulically activated thru-shaft
motor that rotates the spray head.
Optional Ground Hog Blasting Tool
Vacuum Connection
Hand operated tools like the Ground Hog (Walk
behind) are equipped with blast heads that are
designed to be attached directly to the vacuum
system. The hose quick disconnect fittings provide
vacuum from the skid unit to the blast head. Once
the hose is connected, vacuum is supplied to the
tool whenever the UHP system is activated and
the VACUUM and SEPARATOR switches are ON.
Make sure to protect the hoses from damage and
abrasion from dragging on the pavement. This
is particularly important when working a long
distance from the truck. In some situations anti-
chaffing protection may need to be added to the
hoses to protect them in contact areas.
