1.2.4 LEDs
I. Disk LEDs
An IX1000 provides two LEDs for each disk on its front panel: a disk
power/positioning/Active LED and a disk fault/array state LED.
Table 1-1 describes the
states of each LED.

OFF: The disk is not powered on.

Solid ON: The disk is powered on.

Blinking twice per second: Disk/array is
being positioned from the RAID
console.

Blinking at an inconstant frequency:
Disk is being accessed.

OFF: The disk operates properly.
z
Solid ON: The disk has failed.
z
Blinking once per second: Data is being
synchronized or reconstructed in the
array where the disk resides.
II. Ethernet port LEDs
As shown in Figure 1-2 , an IX1000 provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one fast
Ethernet port on its rear panel. Table 1-2 describes the states of the LEDs of these
ports.

Solid ON in green: A link is present and the port
operates at the speed of 1000 Mbps.

Blinking in green, with red mixed in: The port
operates at the speed of 1000 Mbps and data is
being received/sent through the port.

Occasionally blinking in red: A link is present and
the port operates at the speed of 100 Mbps.
z
Blinking in red: The port operates at the speed of
100 Mbps and data is being received/sent through
the port.
z
OFF: No link is present.
