3.7.2 Connecting the AC Power Cord
I. AC power source socket
You are recommended to use single-phase three-wire power sockets with a neutral
contact or general-purpose PC power sockets, as shown in
.
Make sure that the neutral point is well connected to building ground. Typically, the
neutral point of the power source of the building has been buried in the earth during the
building construction and cable routing stage. Still, you must make sure that the power
source of the building is reliably grounded.

II. Connecting the AC power cable
1) Without a UPS
Step 1: Connect one end of the chassis ground cable, which was shipped with the
IX1000, to the grounding terminal on the rear of the chassis and the other end to the
grounding system as close to the device as possible.
Step 2: Connect one end of the power cords to the power inputs on the rear of the
IX1000 chassis, and plug the other end to the AC power outlets.
Note:
To achieve redundancy backup of the power supply, you are recommended to connect
the two power cords of the IX1000 to two power sockets, which should be connected to
different mains supplies.
Finally, check whether the PWR LED on the rear panel of the IX1000 is blinking. If the
LED is blinking, this means that the power cords have been properly connected.
2) With a UPS
Step 1: Connect one end of the chassis ground cable, which was shipped with the
IX1000, to the grounding terminal on the rear of the chassis and the other end to the
grounding system as close to the device as possible.
