Note:
The directions "front", "rear", "left", "right", "bottom" referred to in this document are
defined on the assumption that the device is normally positioned and you face the front
of the device.

IX1000 shall be installed indoors and used as a fixed device.

Do not remove the H3C dismantlement-preventive seal (shown in Figure 3-2 ) on the
chassis cover of an IX1000 without permission. If you want to open the chassis, you
should contact the local agent of H3C for permission. Otherwise, H3C shall not be
held liable for any consequence caused thereby.

3.3 Installing Device Components
3.3.1 Installation Preparation and Installation Flow
Caution:
Turn off all power supplies and remove all power cables before installing an IX1000.
Check the packing list and the device model and count the types and quantity of the
accessories supplied with the device to ensure the materials are complete.
Figure 3-3 shows the flow of installing components of an IX1000.
