the IX1000 through an Ethernet cable or through a switch.

You are recommended to use the FE port of the IX1000 as the management port.

After connecting the IX1000 and the client PC in the way shown in
can download the NeoStor console software to the client PC from the IX1000 and
install it on the client PC. The NeoStor console software is a Java-based application
and can run on Windows platforms that support the J2SE Runtime Environment
(JRE) version 5.0. For more information, see

4.1.2 Setting IP addresses

, if the PC is connected to the FE port of the IX1000, the IP addresses of
the PC and the FE port must be in the same network segment.

In the NeoStor console, eth0 corresponds to the FE port, and eth1 through eth4
correspond to GE1 through GE4 respectively.
4.1.3 Installing and Logging Into NeoStor Console
After setting up the environment as shown in
, start the IX1000. About ten
minutes later, you can install and log in to the NeoStor console from the client to
manage the IX1000.
