Troubleshooting – practical advice
Problem
Cause
Solution
Light does not come on.
The power supply has been disconnected or the lighting has been connected
incorrectly.
Incorrect wiring.
The switching time has been reached, but the ambient lighting is
brighter than the preset lux value.
The switching time has not yet been reached.
Check that the power supply is switched on.
Check that the device has been wired correctly. Please refer to the wiring diagram
(Fig. C)
.
Reduce the lux value so that the red LED and the lighting come on.
Check to see whether the lighting comes on when the switching time is reached.
Switching time has been reached,
light does not come on.
Incorrect wiring.
The connected lighting or the lamp is faulty.
Check the wiring between the twilight switch and the lighting.
Replace the lamp.
Switching time has elapsed,
light does not go off .
The time setting has elapsed, but the ambient light level is higher than the preset lux
value for a period of 60 seconds.
The lighting has been wired incorrectly.
Reduce the lux value or wait until the ambient light level increases.
Check that the device has been wired correctly. Please refer to the wiring diagram
(Fig. C)
.
The setting on the display does not
change even when one of the buttons
is pushed.
The
"TAG"/"UHR"/"MINUTE"
or
"LÖSCHEN/ZURÜCKSETZEN"
button has been pressed in standard mode.
Press and hold down the
"PROG."
button for < 3 seconds or > 3 seconds.
The current time will appear on the display by pressing the
"UHR"
button.
The display is off .
The power supply has been disconnected and the battery is fl at.
Check to see whether the power supply is switched on or change the battery
to ensure that the twilight switch remains switched on during the power failure.
The red LED does not light up.
The power supply has been disconnected and the battery is fl at.
The lux value setting was not recognised.
Connect the device to the mains supply.
The twilight switch value should be more than 5 lux.
LERNEN/TEST
function is disabled.
The power supply has been disconnected or the battery is fl at.
Connect the device to the mains supply.
Attention!
The switching times are executed according to the lux value
(Fig. D7)
that is stored using
the
LERNEN/TEST
function.
The twilight switch reverts to standard operating mode once the DCF signal has been
received (either manually or automatically).
DCF function
The twilight switch receives the current time, the date and seasonal time changes via the
DCF signal. The daily time update always takes place at night at 02:00. The DCF signal
can be received within a radius of 1,500 - 2,500 km in Central Europe.
The DCF symbol
(Fig. E)
fl ashes in the top left-hand corner of the display while the
search for the DCF signal is in progress. The DCF symbol
(Fig. E)
lights up permanently
once the DCF signal has been detected. If this does not happen, the symbol fades out.
There are two diff erent ways to receive the DCF signal:
Automatic reception:
When the twilight switch is connected to the power supply, the
device automatically receives the DCF signal and the time is set. To exit this mode, press
and hold down the
"LERNEN/TEST"
button
(Fig. D12)
for < 2 seconds.
Manual setting:
Please refer to
"Manual reception of the DCF signal"
using the
"LERNEN/TEST"
button in the
Description of functions
table.
Changing the battery
Unscrew the cover
(Fig. B)
.
Ensure that the electrical power supply is switched off when changing the battery!
Use a suitable tool to open the battery compartment
(Fig. D4)
.
Change the battery.
The current time will remain on the display for approx. 1 minute while the battery is being
changed. After this time, it will go out and will need to be reset. The defi ned programs
are retained.
The battery life depends on the surrounding temperature and length of use during a
power failure.
