Operation and control
7.1
Special Personnel Qualifications
Operation must be performed by specially qualified personnel in accordance with
the safety instructions.
The operator may only carry out work on the machine if he has been trained,
instructed and authorized to do so by the owner.
7.2
Safety Instructions
To prevent damage to property and/or life-threatening injury to people when
operating the equipment, the following points must always be observed:
● The animal segregation system may only be used/installed in accordance with
its intended use.
● Before switching on, find out what to do in an emergency.
● Read the ”Safety” section as well.
Prior to operation, the operator should be adequately familiar with the following:
● the operating and control elements
● the equipment included
● the method of operation
● the immediate surroundings of the animal segregation system
Carry out the following checks before every start:
● Check the animal segregation system for visible signs of damage; any defects
found are to be rectified immediately or reported to the supervisor - the machine
may only be operated if it is in perfect working order.
● Check and make sure that only authorized personnel are in the work area of the
machine and no other people will be endangered by the machine starting.
● Check and make sure that there are no objects or materials in the working area
if they are not necessary for operation.
After switching on:
● After switching on, check pressure ranges (e.g. operating vacuum),
temperatures (e.g. of electromagnetic valves, transceivers, change-over box).
In normal operation:
● It is strictly forbidden to remain in the operating area (entrance gate and
segregation gates) during operation!
● Operating personnel should make sure that no unauthorized personnel are in
the working area.
● The following checks should be performed at least once a day:
- Visual checks for any damage that can be seen on the outside.
