When power is lost, the onboard computer will continue to run for one more minute
before it is automatically shut down in a controlled manner. However, the interface
control unit of the control software, CU-960, located inside the electrical cabinet, is
immediately shut down and the system is stopped.
If power returns within one minute after the power failure, the computer will still be
turned on and the system, including the interface control unit of the control software,
will automatically start up again. The selected method that was running when the
power was lost will be in End mode and has to be restarted again from the starting
point.
If other control software than UNICORN is used, no onboard computer is included in
the system. When power is lost, the interface control unit of the control software, (for
example PI-960 for DeltaV) located inside the electrical cabinet, is immediately shut
down, communication to the server is lost, and the system is stopped.
If power returns within one minute after the power failure, the communication to the
server and the interface control unit of the control software will automatically start
up again. The selected method that was running when the power was lost will be in
Held mode and has to be restarted again from the starting point.
NOTICE
Forcing the control software or the Microsoft Windows operating
system to close during upload of data from the interface control
unit will cause the unsaved data to be lost.
Restart after power failure
Follow the instruction below to restart ÄKTA ready XL after power failure.

Make sure that the condition that caused the power failure is corrected.

If the safety monitoring button Reset (located on the electrical cabinet) is
flashing, then press the button to reset safety monitoring.

If the external UPS is not functioning and the power to the entire system is
lost, restart the system according to the instructions in
the system and log on to control software, on page 96
