Hard disk drives (HDD), solid state drives (SSD) and 2.5-inch PCIe-SSD

HDD/SSD backplane types

There are two different HDD/SSD backplanes.

HDD backplane 1-1 provides 4 SAS/SATA connectors (0, 1, 2, 3) and two
SAS/SATA/PCIe SFF SSD combi connectors (4, 5). This backplane is used with
CX2560 M4 and CX2570 M4 server nodes.

HDD backplane 1-2 provides 2 SATA connectors (1, 2). This backplane is used
with CX2550 M4 server nodes.

The following figures shows how the cages depending of the installed
backplanes can be equipped.
