Replacing the Fusing Unit
The following messages appear on the printer’s control panel when the fusing unit is near or
reaches the end of its service life.
Replacement Procedure
1. Switch off the power.
Important
• While the printer is in the Energy Saver mode, press the
<Energy Saver> button to exit the mode, and then switch
off the power.

• For information on how to switch off the power and the
main power, refer to "2.2 Switching On/Off the Power"
(P. 46).
2. Wait for 40 minutes for the fusing unit to cool
down.
3. Open Tray 5 (1), and then while lifting up the
release lever (2) gently open the upper left
cover A (3).
4. Loosen the screws on both sides of the fusing
unit completely.

The fusing unit needs to be replaced soon. There is
enough capacity to print approximately 10,000

Fuser Assembly
The fusing unit has reached the end of its
replacement life. Refer to "Replacement Procedure"
(P. 302) when replacing the fusing unit and then
refer to "Resetting the Counter" (P. 304) to clear the
counter.
