Appendix C: Enabling Alarm Events on Genie XMS
To transfer alarm events, including alarm I/O and motion events, from the NVR to Genie XMS,
some settings have to be configured in advanced. Please follow the steps below.
1.
On the NVR:
a.
Configure the
settings. Please follow the instructions below to fill in each column.
Note:
The Email setup page can be used to set up for 1) Email alert function (refer to
4.1.1.3.3 Email)
, or 2) Sending alarm events to Genie XMS. The two functions cannot be
enabled simultaneously. If you want to enable alarm events to Genie XMS, and in the
meantime, receive email alerts from NVR, you can enable the Email alert function using
Genie XMS.
Email:
Select
Enable
to enable the Email function.
Encryption:
Select
Disable
to disable the Encryption function.
SMTP Port:
Keep
25
as the SMTP port.
SMTP Server:
Input the IP address of Genie XMS.
Users:
Input the user name of the sender. Note that this column cannot be blank.
