Explosion protection type: the device or connector energetic level has been limited unitl a secure level. By applying the Ui and Um maximum voltages there are no risk to
cause sparks in the following condition:
•
In presence of ALL the not-autorevealing failures with 1,5 of multiplying coefficient for Ui and Um
•
In presence of ALL the not-autorevealing failures and one revealing failure with 1,5 of multiplying coefficient for Ui and Um
•
In presence of ALL the not-autorevealing failures and two revealing failures with 1 of multiplying coefficient for Ui and Um
IIC
Gas Grouping: compatible with the most dangerous gas; A=Propane, B=Ethylene, C=Hydrogen
T4
Temperature Class: maximum ambient operative temperature of 135°C.
The allowed ambient operating temperature is higher of the normal electrical manufacture (from -20°C to +40°C), that's why there is the temperature indication (
-20°C Tamb
+50°C
)
The T4 temperature class has been adopted. All the temperature classes are as follow:
•
T1 = 450°C of maximum superficial temperature
•
T2 = 300°C of maximum superficial temperature
•
T3 = 200°C of maximum superficial temperature
•
T4 = 135°C of maximum superficial temperature
•
T5 = 100°C of maximum superficial temperature
•
T6 = 85°C of maximum superficial temperature
X
The final "X" coefficient is for particular operating modes; in particular the MICROCAL 20 DPC IS is certified for low mechanical risk

Instructions for use
Special precautions for use in hazardous areas
1. Do not connect the output terminals to external powered circuits when calibrator sources Volts or milliamps.
2. Make sure that the parameters of both the calibrator and the instrument match.
3. Do not exceed parameters nameplate data.
4. Do not open battery enclosure in a potentially esplosive atmosphere.
5. Do not charge or attempt to charge the batteries.
6. Do not use the serial port.
7. Do not open the calibrator housing when an explosive gas atmosphere may be present.
15.3.1
Recharging the batteries
WARNING
THE BATTERIES MUST
ONLY
BE CHARGED IN A SAFE AREA AND ONLY WITH THE
E
UROTRON CHARGER SUPPLIED FOR USE WITH THE
M
ULTI
-C
ALIBRATOR
.
Use the charger supplied as standard only. Switch the calibrator "OFF" before connecting the charger. Recharging time period is 8/10 hours from empty to full charge in OFF condition.
Occasional charging over more than 16 hours is permitted.
