Calibrating a pressure transmitter
The following procedure is used to test and to calibrate a pressure transmitter 4-20mA
EXAMPLE
:
•
Connect the instrument like in the figure beside. In this case, the calibrator powers the transmitter, then connect the input
channel (1 or 2) as passive loop.
Set one of the available Xscale memories (e.g. X1) for 4-20mA input and a proper pressure range

in this case: a pressure value of 0-100mbar corresponds to a linear function
in 4-20mA and 2 decimal digits (see par. 4.3)

NOTE:
AFTER PROPERLY VISUALIZING THE INPUTS ON THE DISPLAY
,
ZERO THE MEASURE OF PRESSURE
(
SEE PAR
.
5.2).
At this moment, the system is properly set for a calibration procedure.
REMARK:
AS THE AIM OF A CALIBRATION PROCEDURE IS THAT ONE TO CHECK AN ERROR
,
WE SUGGEST SETTING THE DISPLAY IN ORDER TO SHOW OF BOTH CHANNELS AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
THEM
,
WHICH GIVES US STRAIGHTFORWARDLY AN ERROR VALUE
(
SEE PAR
.
