Function description COMMUNICATION
TAG NAME Use this function to enter a tag name for the measuring device. You can edit and read this
tag name via the local display or the HART protocol.
User input:
Max. 8-character text, permitted characters are: A-Z, 0-9, +,–, punctuation marks
Factory setting:
“– – – – – – – –” (no text)
TAG DESCRIPTION Use this function to enter a tag description for the measuring device. You can edit and
read this tag name via the local display or the HART

BUS ADDRESS Use this function to define the address for the exchange of data with the HART protocol.

A constant 4 mA current is applied with addresses 1...15.
WRITE PROTECTION Use this function to check whether the measuring device can be write-accessed.
Display:
OFF (execution status) = Data exchange possible
ON = Data exchange disabled

Write protection is activated and deactivated by means of a DIP switch on the amplifier
board (see Page 38).
BURST MODE Use this function to activate cyclic data exchange of the process variables flow and sum
to achieve faster communication.
