Pointer setting and scale reading procedure
When calibrating (pointer setting) to the value determined as a calculated value or a
measured value, the procedure will depend on whether a dial or counter display type is
used. If the height of the tank is up to 20 m or 60 ft, select the dial display. If the tank is
taller, select the counter display.
1. Remove the indicator cover and loosen the cap nut.
The long indicator needle (white) can be turned as it is, whereas the short one
(green-yellow) can be freed when you pull it in front of you. Align the short
needle with the inner scale (1 mm (0.04 in) interval scale) so that it corresponds
to the last two digits of the surface level.
2. Align the long needle with the outer scale.
Since each interval of the outer scale corresponds to 100 mm (3.94 in) of the
surface level, it is adjusted by visual estimate according to the last two digits of
the surface level.
3. After aligning the needles, tighten the cap nut firmly.
The 10
000 mm (393.7 in), 1
000 mm (39.37 in) and 100 mm (3.94 in) units are
read using the outer scale and the long needle, and the 10 mm (0.34 in) and
1 mm (0.04 in) units are read using the inner scale and the short needle.
Tightening torque: 0.315 N/m
This completes the indicator setting and scale reading process.
