5.12.3 Installation of measuring tape on a floating roof tank

Installation procedure

1. Send one end of the measuring wire into the tank by passing it through the 90°

sheave elbow on the gauge head to the sheave elbow on the tank roof.

2. Temporarily secure the other end in place.
3. Connect the measuring wire to the float inside the tank.
4. Connect the measuring wire to the measuring tape on top of the tank and feed the

measuring tape to the gauge head side.

5. Check to make sure that the measuring tape is not twisted.
6. Close the sheave elbow cover.

This completes the installation process.
