Indicator does not change at all
Severed measuring tape
Open the tank and replace the measuring tape.
Guide wire caught
Open the tank and replace the guide wire if
necessary.
Breakage of conster
Replace the conster.
Check handle caught
Open the rear cover of the gauge head and
repair or replace it.
Wear and tear of the gear connected to the
indicator
Replace the entire indicator reduction gear
unit.
Improper setting of sprocket or dislodged
measuring tape
Open the rear cover of the gauge head to
check.
Float sinking
Replace the float after opening the tank.
Frequent indication error
Deterioration of conster
Check variation of indication value using the
check handle and replace it if deteriorated.
Same as items 2, 4, 5, 6 mentioned above
Check the internal parts of the gauge head.
Loosening of indicator pointer
Open the indicator cover and check the lock
nut for the indicator pointer.
Improper setting of tape guide
Check the gap between the sprocket and tape
guide.
Twisted measuring tape
Open the sheave elbow cover, pull out the
measuring tape and inspect it. The measuring
tape can be repaired depending on its
condition.
The indicated value and the measured value
are different
There is an error in the gauge head
Inspect the items mentioned above and
implement countermeasures.
There is no problem with the gauge head
Problems associated with measurements
Negative influence from measuring technique
Negative influence from sludge deposition
Negative influence from strong wind
Error in the measuring scale
Check handle does not rotate or does not
return to the original position
Checker shaft has rusted
Clean the shaft and replace the entire check
handle unit.
The spring in check has deteriorated
Replace the spring.
Drive checker does not work (LT5-4/LT5-6)
The set screw of the check handle is loose
Tighten the set screw.
Breakage of check driver spring
Replace the entire check unit.
The spring is caught in the tape drum and does not
move
Repair the check unit or replace the entire unit.
Gas leak (LT5-4/LT5-6)
Poor sealing at the junction part of the gauge head
rear cover
Replace the packing or apply a seal end agent
to the junction part.
Poor sealing at the penetration part of the drive
checker unit
Replace the seal metal.
