12.1.1 Pneumatic control unit

1.
Check compressed air connections
for leaks:
• Pilot valves
• Pumps
2.
Check level of buffer and cleaning
solution and refill if necessary.
3.
Check multi-hose connections for
leaks.
4.
Check pumps for leaks.
1.
Check if interior is clean, dry and free from corrosion.
• Clean and dry the interior.
• Check seals, couplings and pumps for leaks and damage.
• In case of corrosion, replace the affected areas if necessary.
2.
Retighten terminals.
3.
Test level measurement for buffer and cleaner canister.
12.1.2 Sensors
Please make sure to refer to the sensor operating instructions for information on servicing
and troubleshooting the sensor.

CAUTION
Cleaning not switched off during calibration or maintenance activities
Risk of injury due to medium or cleaning agent!
‣
If a cleaning system is connected, switch it off before removing a sensor from the
medium.
‣
If you wish to check the cleaning function and have therefore not switched off the
cleaning system, wear protective clothing, goggles and gloves or take other appropriate
measures.
Replacing the sensor while ensuring measuring point availability
If an error occurs or the maintenance schedule stipulates that the sensor has to be
replaced, use a new sensor, or a sensor that has been precalibrated in the laboratory.
• A sensor is calibrated in the laboratory under optimum external conditions, thereby
ensuring better quality of measurement.
• You must perform onsite calibration if you use a sensor that is not precalibrated.
1. Remove the sensor that requires maintenance.
2. Install the new sensor.
The sensor data are automatically accepted by the transmitter. A release code is
not required.
Measurement is resumed.
3. Take the used sensor back to the laboratory.
In the laboratory you can get the sensor ready for reuse while ensuring the
availability of the measuring point.
Prepare the sensor for reuse
1. Clean sensor.
For this purpose, use the cleaning agent specified in the sensor manual.
2. Inspect the sensor for cracks or other damage.
3. If no damage is found, regenerate the sensor. Where necessary, store the sensor in a
regeneration solution (→ sensor manual).
4. Recalibrate the sensor for reuse.
