SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING - If correctly used, the electric saw is a
quick, easily handled and efficient tool; if used
improperly or without the due precautions it could
become a dangerous tool. For pleasant and safe
work, always strictly comply with the safety rules that
follow and throughout this manual.
WARNING: The power supply system on your unit
produces a very low-intensity electromagnetic field.
This field could interfere with certain pacemakers. To
reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, persons with
pacemakers should consult their doctor or the
manufacturer of the pacemaker before using this
machine.
WARNING! –National laws could limit use of the
electric chainsaw.
Do not operate the machine unless you have received
1 -
specific instruction on its use. First time users must
familiarise themselves thoroughly with the operation of
the machine before working in the field.
The electric saw must only be used by adults, and users
2 -
must be in good physical shape and familiar with the
operating instructions. Do not use the electric saw
under conditions of physical fatigue or if you have taken
alcohol, drugs, or medication (Fig. 1).
Never wear scarves, bracelets or anything else which
3 -
could be taken up by machine or chain. Wear clothing
that is snug-fitting and comfortable, and resistant to
cutting (pag. 16-17).
Use safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses or goggles,
4 -
and protective head covering (pag. 16-17).
Assemble bar and chain before connecting the plug to
5 -
the network (Fig. 2).
Never start the electric saw without the chain-guard on.
6 -
Check that tension and frequency shown on the plate
7 -
correspond to the ones of the network.
Never use cables, plugs or extensions which are
8 -
defective or fail to comply with relative standards.
Immediately disconnect the plug if the cable is
9 -
damaged or cut (Fig. 3). The electric connection must
be positioned so as to prevent persons or vehicles from
damaging it, thus jeopardizing both themselves and
you.
Before starting to saw, make sure that the work area is
10 -
clean and uncluttered.
Check the cable location during work: it must always
11 -
be kept away from the chain work area or/and never
be stretched. Never cut in the vicinity of other electrical
cables.
Keep bystanders and animals out of the work area when
12 -
cutting with the electric saw (Fig. 4).
Always cut from a firm-footed and safe position. Only
13 -
start cutting when the chain is moving. During work use
the teeth as a support point.
Always cut from a firm-footed and safe position (Fig. 5).
14 -
Ensure that trees fall in a safe direction.
It is prohibited to fit any device other than that supplied
15 -
by the manufacturer.
Never touch the chain or attempt to service the saw
16 -
while the engine is running.
All labels with health hazards must be kept in good
17 -
conditions. In case of damage or deterioration,
immediately substitute them (see pag. 4-5).
Do not utilize the machine for uses different from the
18 -
ones specified in the manual (see pag. 32).
Never carry out operations or repairs on your own that
19 -
are other than routine maintenance. Call specialised and
authorised workshops only.
Disconnect the plug from the network before any
20 -
servicing (Fig. 2).
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the
21 -
maintenance operations.
Check the saw daily to ensure that all safety and other
22 -
devices are working properly.
Never work with a saw that is damaged, poorly repaired,
23 -
or randomly modified. Do not remove, damage, or make
ineffective any of the safety devices. Only use bars of the
length indicated in the table (Pag. 45).
Only loan your saw to expert users who are completely
24 -
familiar with saw operation and correct use. Give other
users the manual with operating instructions, which
they should read before using the saw.
Do not expose the electric saw to rain or high humidity
25 -
conditions (Fig. 6).
Never use your electric saw in explosive or inflammable
26 -
atmospheres.
If the saw stops working for any reason, do not leave it
27 -
on the work site, but take it to your dealer who will take
the correct measures.
All electric saw service, other than the operations
28 -
shown in the present manual, should be performed by
competent personnel.
Keep this manual on hand and consult it before each
29 -
use of the tool.
Do not overload the electric chainsaw by forcing the cut.
30 -
Do not abuse the power cable; never carry the saw
31 -
suspended by the cable, and never tug on the cable to
unplug the saw from the power socket. Keep the cable
well clear of oil, heat sources and sharp edges.
Do not operate the electric chainsaw in areas where
32 -
there may be an explosion or fire risk.
