8.2.
COMMUNICATOR SETTINGS
After opening the tab, the main parameters of the device are shown for the first.
Clicking on the “Advance” below, shows the remaining parameters.
Service Code
8.2.1.
This code provides the highest level access to the system. It is used both for local
programming of the device and also for remote controlling (in TCP/IP or SMS mode).
Factory setting is
1111
. During the first starting of device (programming) it shall be
changed. Code may consist of up to seven alpha numerical characters.
Installer code
8.2.2.
Allows restricted access to the parameters of device. When installer code is used
following groups of parameters are unavailable: Access, Transmission, Restrictions,
SMS notifications, RS232, Link control, and Phone line. An unauthorized attempt to
access to this parameters causes error notification.

Firmware change code
8.2.3.
This option protects the device against unauthorized remote update of the firmware
(eg by OSM monitoring station via Ethernet or LTE/HSPA+). After enabling this
option, a field for entering the code (from 4 to 7 digits long) will appear. This code
have to be entered during the remote software update.
NOTE!
This code must be different from the service code and the installer.
Device state code
8.2.4.
This code allows to encrypt the monitoring of the communicator's status. Setting the
monitor code should go hand in hand with selecting the "Monitoring data is
encrypted" option on the Device monitor tab (see chapter 7.5.4). If this code has
been set in the device and the Device Monitor is started without a code, the status
monitoring cannot be started.
