BSCAN Modes

BSCAN modes may be changed in the

DISPLAY

sub-menu – see 4.7. DISPLAY

Sub-Menu (SETTING).

There are three BSCAN modes:

THICKNESS – for thickness measurement graphic presentation simultaneously

with A-scan – for details see 4.5.3. THICKNESS – Thickness Measuring;

R-G-B palette – for colour palette presentation of measured signal amplitudes

(without A-scan presentation) – for details see 4.5.4. R-G-B Palette.

TOFD (BW) – grey scale palette presentation of measured signal amplitudes with

A-scan presentation in the bottom part of the screen used for TOFD (Time Of

Flight Diffraction) technique – for details see 4.5.5. TOFD (BW) – Time Of Flight

Diffraction.

NOTE: For better visibility in any mode, menu descriptions may be hidden by

depressing the MENU key.

If an incremental encoder (IRC) had been connected to the instrument, then BSCAN

deployment depends on incoming pulses rate – IRC_RATE.

IRC_RATE value (in

sub-menu – see 4.7.6 in 4.7. DISPLAY

Sub-Menu (SETTING)) determines number of pulses per one scan line in the graph.

Negative IRC_RATE value enables reverse co-ordinates to match probe movement

direction with BSCAN orientation on the screen.
