28 MicroController Control System Systems Operation
After the line contactor is closed the logic generates a
positive pulsing signal to the gate of TP MOSFET.
This is a rapidly changing signal that can only be
viewed on an oscilloscope. Because TP is N type
MOSFET, the positive signal into the gate causes
current flow through the drain/source junction. When
current flows through the gate/source junction the
MOSFET turns ON and main current will flow through
the drain/source junction. When the gate signal is
OFF, TP will be OFF.
