3: SYSTEM BACKUP AND RESTORE
A er having prepared one ForceOne device with all applica ons and se ngs as desired, is possible to make a full copy
of it on an external SD, or even on the internal Hard Disk (if there is enough space available).
To create a backup image on the external SD, is necessary to use a previously exis ng “Restore SD”, possibly the same
used to format and restore the same device, or at least one with the same Windows CE image. The factory “Restore
SD” can be required to Digitax, if not already provided.
Take this “Restore SD” (MicroSD) and insert in the device. Use only MicroSD with max 2GB of capacity, because even
if SDHC cards are supported and usable in the ForceOne, for this speci
fi
c task is necessary to use a MicroSD with max
2GB of capacity.
Click on “Create System Restore SD”, and wait for the procedure to complete.
The created SD is called “Restore SD”, because it can be used to format and completely ini alize the ForceOne device.

rmware and setup are all updated in the restored device.
The Restore procedure is the following:

Insert the created Restore SD in the external SD plug.
•
Keep the ForceOne power bu on

rmly pressed for long me, more than 15 seconds, un l you see that the
ForceOne is star ng.
•
Release the power bu on.
•
Wait while the device is forma ed and restarted more mes, it will take 5 to 10 minutes.
•
When is all completed, remove the Restore SD
This procedure allows not only to clone one ForceOne to other devices, but also to recover faulty devices with dam-
aged directory structure.
4: GPS Op ons
You can set the sta c threshold for the embedded GPS receiver. This is useful, because when the car is stopped for
long me, the GPS posi on slowly moves erra cally around the posi on of the car, due to the inherent behavior of
every GPS system. The Sta c Threshold parameter tells to the receiver to discard movement under a certain speed,
thus allowing to probably keep the arriving posi on of the car for long me.
