Overview

This chapter describes the interfaces provided with the LG

plus

printer. The

printer interface is the point where the data line from the host computer

plugs into the printer. The interface processes all communications signals

and data to and from the host computer. It consists of a printed circuit

board assembly (PCBA) and a connector for the data cable from the host

computer. Communication signals and data may be sent over parallel or

serial lines.

IMPORTANT

The LG

plus

is equipped with three parallel interfaces and two serial

interfaces. Only one interface can be used at a time, and it must be

selected via the control panel configuration menu. (Refer to Chapter

4, “Host Interface Menu.”) Only one data input cable can be plugged

in at any time.

The host interfaces provided for the LG

plus

are:

RS–422 serial

In addition to descriptions for each interface, this chapter also provides

instructions for configuration of terminating resistors for the parallel

interfaces.
