Adjusting Matrix Mixer and PQ Mixer
Output Controls
Matrix and PQ Mixer Output Levels
Matrix and PQ mixer output levels are controlled by the Out-
put faders.
To control mixer output levels:

Press the Matrixes switch or the Personal Qs switch to bank
Matrix or PQ mixers to the Output Masters section.

Adjust the fader corresponding to the output level you want
to change.
PQ Mixer Output Limiter
A limiter can be applied to the output of PQ mixers. PQ output
limiter controls appear on-screen only. (Matrix mixers do not
have output limiters.)
To use a limiter on the output of a PQ mixer:

Go to the Outputs page.

Select a PQ channel to display the mixer you want to con-
figure.

Click the on-screen Limiter In button to engage the limiter.

Drag the on-screen Limiter knob to set the limiter threshold.
PQ Mixer Output Balance
PQ Mixers provide a balance control for controlling the bal-
ance of the mixer output signal across its stereo outputs. (Ma-
trix mixers have mono outputs, so they do not have Balance
controls.)
D-Show Profile does not provide a PQ mixer output balance
control. Use the on-screen Balance encoder in the Outputs
page of all PQ mixers instead.
To control PQ mixer output balance on D-Show Profile:

Target the PQ mixer output channel by pressing its Select
switch in the Output Faders section.

Click and adjust the on-screen Balance encoder in the Out-
puts page for the targeted PQ mixer.
Matrix Mixer Output Delay
A variable delay (0–500 ms) can be applied to the output of
Matrix mixers. (PQ mixers do not offer delay. A delay plug-in
can be inserted on a PQ output if delay is needed.) For instruc-
tions, see “Output Delay” on page 74.
Delay Compensation with Matrix and
PQ Mixers
D-Show automatically compensates for the delay offsets that
can arise when combining different signal paths within a Ma-
trix or PQ mixer.
Additional Information about Delay Compensation
• The overall latency through a Matrix or PQ mixer is de-
termined by the path with the highest latency.
• All inputs within a Matrix or PQ mix are guaranteed to be
phase accurate, but mixes are not necessarily aligned to
each other. This ensures that all mixes are not penalized
in the case of one or more exceptionally high-latency sig-
nal paths.
• Delay compensation only accounts for a channel’s
post-insert pickoff. Channels that feed User Inputs and
Auxes (pre-insert) will not be fully compensated for.
Settings for Delay Compensation
The Options > Busses page provides three settings for Delay
Compensation: Off, Mix Only, and Mix and Inserts.
Off
No Delay Compensation is applied.
Mix Only
D-Show automatically compensates for delays in-
curred by the use of Groups routed to the Mains busses.
Mix and Inserts
D-Show automatically compensates for delays
incurred by the use of plug-ins as well as those incurred by the
use of Groups routed to the Mains busses.
Adjusting Other Matrix and PQ Output
Controls
Matrix and PQ Output busses provide standard Output chan-
nel controls (Polarity, Solo and Mute), Direct Outs, inserts and
built-in Graphic EQ capabilities.
