Put the VMware vSphere ESXi host into maintenance mode and reboot for the configuration
change to take effect.

(AMP-2S only) Repeat these steps on the remaining Cisco UCS C2x0 servers.

Configuring RAID devices for AMP-2

Set up RAID devices on the AMP-2P Cisco UCS C2x0 server or servers that have a Cisco 12G SAS
Modular RAID controller card.

About this task

Create two RAID devices as data stores. Perform this procedure on all AMP-2 Cisco UCS C2x0 servers.
AMP-2P have one Cisco UCS C2x0 server.

Before you begin

Install Java and Flash on the laptop to run the utility.

Procedure

Log on to CIMC of the Cisco UCS C2X0-A server as admin.

Navigate to

Cisco 12G SAS Modular Raid Controller (SLOT-HBA)

Select

Create Virtual Drive from Unused Physical Drives

. If there are pre-existing virtual

drives, delete them and proceed.

Create one RAID-1 Virtual Drive using 49 percent of the available capacity of all unused physical
drives. Assign the name:

RAID1_MI01

A slight variation in size allows for the differentiation of the devices if queried through a
script. It also allows for capacity usage by Converged Systems lifeboat files on a
secondary data store.
