Storage

VMware Data stores

Select a data store and click

Details

In the

Storage Details

section, click the

Capacity

tab.

For the

Size

setting, type the total amount of space the data store can use for data.

For thin-provisioned VMFS data stores, you can increase the storage space, but not
decrease it. For thin-provisioned VMware NFS data stores, you can reduce the storage
space to the current allocation.

Click

Apply

The

Applying Changes

window displays the status of the operation and works in the

background. You can check the status of the operation by clicking the

Jobs

link at the

bottom of the screen. After the operation has been completed, a notification message
appears.

Adding a VMware vSphere ESXi host for IPv4

Add a new VMware vSphere ESXi host to the VNXe array configuration for IPv4.

Before you begin

•

Use the VNXe Unisphere GUI online help for the latest process. You can access the online help
by clicking the question mark on the right side of the

VMware Hosts

page.

•

Obtain the IP address and log on credentials for the VNXe array.

•

Obtain the VMware ESXi host IP address on the vcesys_oob-mgmt VLAN or client equivalent.

VMware Hosts

Click

Find ESX hosts

to start the

Add ESX Hosts

wizard.

VNXe automatically discovers the initiators for VMware vSphere ESXi hosts with block
access.

Select

vCenter

ESX Server Address

Select

IP Address

Type the value for the VMware vSphere ESXi server to be added and click

Find

Select the discovered nodes and click

Next

Verify the host settings in the

Summary

page.
