CONNECTING THE WALLBOXES TO THE CLU
Connect a communication cable between the CLU and the wallboxes. Use a communication
cable with at least two twisted pairs of a single bus system, and four twisted pairs for a
double bus system. The figures below show where a CAT5/CAT6 cable with solid copper
core wires may be connected to the wallbox.
WIRING
The bus requires at least 3 conductors: 2 signal wires (A and B) and 1 signal ground
reference (M). If a twisted pair cable with multiple pairs is used, one pair must be used for
A and B and one pair for M.
GROUNDING AND SHIELDED CABLES
A ground wire is required so that all nodes on the bus share a common ground reference.
The ground wire could be a separate wire or a pair of the twisted pair cable. If a shielded
twisted pair cable is used, the shield must be connected to ground at one end only as
shown in the figure below.
