You will now be guided to the CLU overview with updated status
for the CLU device and configuration.
16. CLU functionalities
MAXIMUM PHASE CURRENT DELTA
The CLU is assigned a maximum allowed delta current between the phases with the highest
and lowest load, respectively. The maximum phase current delta is considered in relation
to the size of the main inlet fuse size of the building. A charging facility with a maximum
charging current of 32A in a building with a main distribution board of 3000A is not likely
to have much impact on the delta current of the building and can thus be allowed to have a
higher maximum phase current delta than a building with a 250A main inlet.
DEFA recommends that the maximum phase delta current never exceeds 30% of the main
inlet fuse size. That is, for example, 45A for a 150A fuse.
PLUG & CHARGE
When «Plug & Charge» is enabled, RFID readers will be ignored and the CLU will accept every
transaction without authentication of users. In this mode no payment solution is provided.
FREE DURING LOST SERVER CONNECTION
When enabled, and the internet connection is broken, the CLU will be set to «Plug & Charge»
if it has not received any data from the server in 5 minutes. Vehicles connected during
the 5 minutes before timeout, must have a plug cycle to start charging. If this mode is not
enabled, charging will not be possible when the internet connection is missing.
PRIORITY FOR USERS WITH SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POWER
In housing cooperatives or businesses some users might need a fully charged vehicle every
day. By using the priority function the vehicle will, when charging on a prioritized charge point,
receive the charge points maximum charging current if available. All prioritized charge points
will have the same priority while all other charge points will share the remaining capacity.
NB! A prioritized charge point must be specified as a fixed load when calculating distributed
power per charge point in a charging facility.
