3 BT1 Installation

3.17 Hard Drive Assembly Installation

Hard drives are installed in a caddies, which together makeup a hard drive assembly. An assembly
can be installed in the data center by a qualified technician. Because the hard drives plug directly into
the SATA backplane, there are no cables or wires to manage.

Note:

Hard Drive Assemblies cannot be removed or installed while

the appliance is connected to power.

The hard drive assembly is fitted with a push-push latching device. When you install an assembly into
its bay, press firmly to ensure the connector seats completely. The assembly handle will extend.
