3 BT1 Installation
3.12 Removing an Appliance from an Optional Tray Accessory
Tools Required:
#2 Phillips screwdriver.
Assumption: A cable management arm is attached to the tray and adequate
cable service loop is available.
Note: If no service loop is available, both appliances in the tray must
be powered down and cables disconnected.
Although the rack system may be powered up and continue to operate, an individual BT1 chassis
should be powered down and disconnected before removing it from the enclosure.

Before you begin, ensure the appliance is powered down, meaning the power button is
clear (no red, yellow, blue, or green illumination). See Powering Down .
2.
Loosen the two thumb screws on left and right hand sides of the BT1 Duo-Pack™ Tray
accessory.
If needed, use a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

3. Ensure the cabling in the rear has sufficient service loop to allow the tray to slide out.
4. The tray is mounted on slide rails which extend the length of the tray.
Extended Slide Rails Warning

The weight of the appliance on extended slide rails can be enough to overturn an
equipment rack. Do not place objects on the BT1 Optional Tray Accessory or use it as a
step.
