Boom side Recapture Screens
The outer / boom side recapture screens, included the
“awning” (bus stop) is attached to the sprayer via a
“hanger” arrangement, shared with the “second row” Fan
Frame, as can be seen in photo 1.
The “hanger” is longer than that used for the 3-row fans
due to (1) the extra width of the Recapture Screen and (2)
the lighter weight of the screen.
At the bottom, the Fan and Recapture frames are linked
together via an adjustable tie rod
(as picture on page
40) on the inside (and shown in photo 2 from
the outside).
The purpose of this rod is to keep the fan
and recapture frames apart when the breakaway is active.
The Recapture system is more effective when the boom
side screen is angled 5 ~ 10 degrees angle inwards –
with the trailing edge of the screen set closer to the sprayer.
In photo 2, the trailing edge of the screen should be much
closer to the tank (the area
circled in yellow
).
