Using SmartMedia to Get the Log File
Notes!
- Any existing data on the SmartMedia is overwritten
- When you use SmartMedia to get the log file, the settings file is
also saved.
(1) Gently insert a SmartMedia without a write-protect seal into
the SmartMedia slot on the AP. The eject button moves out
slightly when the SmartMedia is in place.
(2) The AP copies the collected log file and settings file to the
SmartMedia. As the “BUSY” LED illuminates while the AP
is writing to the SmartMedia, do not eject the SmartMedia
during this time. Ejecting the SmartMedia during this time
may damage the drive or corrupt the data.
(3) After the “BUSY” LED goes out, press the eject button and
remove the SmartMedia.
Using TFTP to Get the Log File
The preparation described in Chapter 7 “File Transfer Utility” is
required to use TFTP to access the AP.
(1) Start TFTP.
(2) Select “Get File from AP (AP
→
PC)”, then click the “OK”
button.
(3) Select “Log File” from the “File to Receive” box.
(4) Enter the IP address of the AP in the “AP IP Address” field.
(5) To save the log file, enter the save location in the “Path for
Saving Received File” field.
(6) Click the OK button.
(7) Exit TFTP.
