When SNMP Connections Fail

- It is possible that the device cannot locate a control parameter, or

that a private MIB has not been compiled.  See Chapter 9.

- If MIB settings have not been made, the correct community name

may not have been entered.  Be sure the community name
setting agrees with the network manager's setting.

- Check the SNMP settings that are being used.

When the AP Cannot Access the SmartMedia

- Check that the SmartMedia is properly inserted into the slot (the

eject button moves out when the SmartMedia is fully inserted).

- The AP determines whether to perform reading or writing based

on whether a write-protect seal is present and starts copying as
soon as the SmartMedia is inserted.  You do not need to issue a
read or write command from a terminal or browser.

When the AP Will Not Start

Check the power LED

- Check whether the “POWER” LED is illuminated.  If not, check

the power cable and confirm that the power plug and mains plug
are correctly connected.

- Check whether the Power LED is flashing.  If the power LED is

still flashing more than 10 minutes after the power is switched on,
the problem may be an APL firmware failure.  In this case, you
will need to perform a forcible firmware upgrade.  See Chapter 7
“Running the Loader to Forcibly Upgrade the Firmware”.
