2. Preparing the alarm base station

To register the sensors the alarm base station must first be set to receive radio signals.
Carry out the following steps:

• You must be on the main level. The LCD should appear as on the right,
for example, with the time and the date.
• Briefly press the ‘ Menü a/A ’ button on the operating unit of the ‘FAZ
3000-Z’ alarm base station.
• Use the ‘ ’ and ‘ ’ buttons to select the ‘

’ menu.
• Confirm by briefly pressing the ‘ OK ’ button.
• Press the ‘ OK ’ button again.
Here, ‘ X ’ is the number of sensors that have already been registered
plus one (if no sensor has been registered yet, then X=1).

Now the ‘FAZ 3000-Z’ alarm base station is ready to receive the registration of a sensor
(‘FAZ 3000-TF-2’ door/window detector, ‘FAZ 3000-PIR-2’ PIR motion detector or ‘FAZ
3000-RM’ smoke detector).
Before other devices can be registered (for example, a ‘FAZ 3000-FB-2’
remote control, a ‘FAZ 3000-AW-3’ alarm dialler etc.,) the ‘ ’ button should
first be pressed until the respective device type appears on the alarm
base station’s LCD. See the displays on the right.
There are six different device types:
