20. Brief instructions
a) Registering a new sensor/device with the alarm base station
These registration instructions naturally apply to ‘normal’ sensors (door/window detector, PIR motion
detector or smoke detector), as well as to all the other components in the ‘FAZ 3000’ wireless
alarm system such as a remote control or an alarm dialler.
• Install the sensor, but do not insert the batteries yet
• Set the alarm base station to the sensor search mode (see page 47)
• If you intend to register a ‘FAZ 3000-FB-2’ remote control, a ‘FAZ 3000-SI-2’ wireless siren
interface, a ‘FAZ 3000-SE-2’ wireless activation switch, a ‘FAZ 3000-AW-3’ wireless alarm
dialler or a ‘FAZ 3000-PC-2’ wireless PC interface, you should select the respective sensor
type using the ‘ ’ button (see page 47)
• Insert the batteries into the sensor
• The alarm base station should now recognise the new sensor (first enter the house code with
the ‘FAZ 3000-FB-2’ remote control, then press a button on the remote control)
• Enter a name for the sensor
• Set the attributes for the sensor (depends on the type of sensor)
• Return to the main level of the alarm base station (press the ‘
C ’ button three times)
b) Replacing the batteries of a sensor/device
• Set the alarm base station to the service mode (see page 71)
• Open the sensor’s casing
• Replace the batteries
• Close the sensor’s casing
• Exit the service mode (see page 71)
c) Replacing the alarm base station’s batteries
• ‘

’ appears on the top line of the alarm base station’s LCD when its batteries are empty
• Set the alarm base station to the service mode (see page 71)
• Open the alarm base station’s casing
• Replace the batteries
• Close the alarm base station’s casing
• Exit the service mode (see page 71)
