Use the Modem Configuration File to Configure a Target Modem

1.

OPTIONAL –

You may optionally edit the Modem Configuration File to instruct the

modem to save, upon execution of the FTP “put” command (see Step 3), the
configuration parameters of this file to a specified modem configuration slot (as you
would by using the

Front Panel

SELECT: Store/Ld

Store

screen).

•

Make sure that you are in the folder containing the Modem Configuration File
(config_file) created in Sect. Q.2.1.

•

Use a text editor such as Windows Notepad to open the Modem Configuration
File (config_file).

•

Add, as the first line in the configuration file,

“SAVE MGC TO SLOT #”

without

quotes (where # is modem configuration slot 0 through 9), as per this example…

MGC=0070.000…etc.

OGC=010x00xxx…etc.

DNI=100000000…etc.

etc…

This text string is case-sensitive. Be sure to specify an “Available”
configuration slot.

Save and close the Modem Configuration File. Continue to the next step.

2. Use Command-line to send a

“PING”

command to confirm proper connection and

communication between the User PC and the Target Modem:
