5.8.3 The Smart Lemo® Look Up Table.
The Smart Lemo® is an intelligent connector that is compatible with the
FlightDaq-TL. The premise of the Smart Lemo® is that any identification and
calibration information pertinent to the transducer is stored with the transducer’s
Lemo® connector.
To that end, the Smart Lemo® has within it an EEPROM which is accessed by
the FlightDaq-TL. All the configuration information referenced in section 5.8 can
be stored within the EEPROM so that it does not matter which channel a
particular transducer is plugged into as all the calibration and identification
information is available together with the data from the transducer.
Smart Lemo® connectors for voltages, PRT’s and Thermocouples are available
from Chell.
To configure a channel for use with a Smart Lemo®, simply configure the
channel for an ‘External’ Configuration Location. Plug in the Smart Lemo® (with
the power off) and when the FlightDaq-TL powers up, it will recognise the Smart
Lemo® and download the contents of the EEPROM.
When Channel configuration is viewed, you will see the following:
