Picture and S ound

- Chec k the corre s ponding output s etting s to ma k e s ure the di s play of the de s ired a ss i s tance function i s enabled for the
de s ired s creen/video output.
S creen di s play s turn on and off repeatedly.
- The battery pac k i s exhau s ted. Replace or charge the battery pac k .
- Remove the battery pac k and reattach it correctly.
A bnormal character s appear on the s creen and the camcorder doe s not operate properly.

- Keep a di s tance between the camcorder and device s that emit s trong electromagnetic field s s uch a s near powerful
magnet s and motor s , MRI machine s or high-voltage power line s .
Horizontal band s appear on the s creen.
- Thi s i s a phenomenon typical of CMO S image s en s or s when recording under s ome type s of fluore s cent, mercury or
s odium lamp s . Thi s i s not a malfunction. You may be able to reduce the s ymptom s by s etting the s hutter s peed mode
to S peed and the s hutter s peed to a value matching the frequency of the local electrical s y s tem: 1/50* or 1/100 for
50 Hz s y s tem s , 1/60 or 1/120 for 60 Hz s y s tem s .

A udio cannot be recorded.
- The INPUT s witch (audio input s election) i s s et to AE S /EBU but an analog audio s ource i s connected, or it i s s et to
ANALO G and a digital audio s ource i s connected. S et the audio related s witche s correctly according to the audio

- When u s ing the INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminal s , ma k e s ure you are u s ing an XLR connector. When u s ing the MIC terminal,

3.5 mm s tereo mini plug.
- The external microphone connected to the INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminal require s phantom power. S et the corre s ponding

A udio i s recorded at an extremely low level.
- When u s ing the INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminal s or MIC terminal: The

M, and the recording level i s s et too low. Chec k the audio level meter on the s creen and adju s t the audio level correctly

- The microphone attenuator i s on. Turn off the microphone attenuator (

101, 102).
S ound i s di s torted or i s recorded at lower level s .
- When recording near loud s ound s ( s uch a s firewor ks , s how s or concert s ), s ound may become di s torted or it may not
be recorded at the actual level s . Activate the microphone attenuator (

101, 102), or adju s t the audio recording level
manually.
The picture i s di s played correctly but there i s no s ound from the built-in s peaker.
- S pea k er volume i s turned off. Adju s t the volume (

- Di s connect any cable s /external device s connected to the
