Before Use
Using the Hot Shoe
The hot shoe is used to attach electronic viewfinders and external flashes
(sold separately).

Remove the hot shoe cap.
●
Pull the cap out in the direction of the
arrow.
●
To avoid losing the cap, place it in the
case for your electronic viewfinder or
external flash.

Attach the hot shoe cap.
●
After removing the external flash or
viewfinder, reattach the cap to protect the
hot shoe.
●
Insert the cap in the direction of the
arrow.
●
Do not raise the internal flash when an accessory besides the
Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC1 is attached to the hot shoe. The
flash may strike the accessory. The flash will not fire at this time.
●
Do not open the LCD monitor upward when an accessory like an
electronic viewfinder or external flash is attached to the hot shoe.
The monitor may strike the viewfinder or flash.
●
Do not disconnect the adapter or unplug the power cord while
the camera is still on. This may erase your shots or damage the
camera.
●
Do not attach the adapter or adapter cord to other objects. Doing
so could result in malfunction or damage to the product.
Remote Control Shooting
Use Remote Controller RC-6 (sold separately) to shoot pictures up to
approx. 5 meters (16 ft.) from the front of the camera.

Follow step 1 in “Using the Self-Timer”

Point the Remote Controller toward the
camera’s remote control sensor and
press the transmit button to shoot.
●
The picture is not taken until focus is achieved.
●
Fluorescent or LED lighting may cause incorrect operation of the
camera by triggering the shutter inadvertently. Try to keep the
camera away from such light sources.
●
If you point a remote controller for a TV set toward the camera
and operate it, it may cause incorrect operation of the camera by
triggering the shutter inadvertently.
