CRVW3 3-Channel Vibrating-Wire Datalogger
89
You should see the
Status Monitor
main screen like this:
Whenever the time for collection (specified for each individual CRVW3 in the
Schedule
tab of
Setup Screen
(p. 87)
) is reached on the
LoggerNet
computer’s clock,
LoggerNet
will
connect to the station automatically and collect data from it. You can observe
LoggerNet
performing these tasks using the
Status Monitor
.
For each station, focus on the collection State (
Coll State
column), the time
that data was last collected from the station (
Last Data Coll
column), the time
that data will be collected next (
Next Data Coll
column) and the number of
values collected (these will be non-zero when actual records get collected). By
highlighting a particular station, you can also force a data collection to occur
immediately using the
Collect Now
button. For more information about using
the
Status Monitor
, refer to Section 6 of the
LoggerNet
manual.
Check the
Status Monitor
on a regular basis (daily or weekly) to ensure that the
expected data is being collected from each CRVW3 station at the expected
time. The
Status Monitor
is a key application for ensuring the regular flow of
data on your network, so you should invest effort to be familiar with how it
operates.
When
LoggerNet
succeeds in collecting data from a station, it places that new
data into a file (which usually has a .DAT extension in the filename). This file
is specified in the
Data Files
tab for that station in the
Setup Screen
. See
Setting up Automatic Data Collection
(p. 87)
, and Sections 4.2
and 4.2.5 of the
LoggerNet
manual for more details. You can observe the file
modification date to ensure that data was written to the file at the expected
time. These files can also be opened and examined using the
View Pro
utility
Analyzing and Publishing Historical Data
(p. 94)
). Recent
collected data is also cached into a
LoggerNet
memory location for easy
sharing with
LoggerNet
client applications, such as the
Numeric Display
or
Graph
used in
Connect Screen
. The
LogTool
application can also be used to
confirm that table collection is working. See Section 6.2 of the
LoggerNet
manual for more information.
The CRVW3 uses tables that operate like those found in programmable
dataloggers (CR6, CR1000, CR3000, etc.). The CRVW3 communicates these
