Check the
Peak Frequency
to ensure that the main sensor reading is in the
expected range. A Signal-to-Noise Ratio of 6 or greater is preferred. Check the
Thermistor value (in units of Ohms) if used.
If multiple peaks occur in the response spectrum of the sensor, be sure to
choose the
Begin Frequency
and
End Frequency
carefully to eliminate
unwanted signals, yet still allow for variation of the sensor output frequency
due to changes in the measured phenomenon. The grey shading in the
Spectrum display indicates how the beginning and ending frequencies are set.
Use the
Options
button to temporarily experiment with different frequency
window ranges. Use the Channel1 , Channel2 , and Channel3 tabs (under the
Settings Editor tab) to make permanent changes to the Begin Frequency and
End Frequency settings.
You can use the
Save Last Results
or
Export
buttons to save the test
information shown on the screen into a file. These saved results can be stored
and used as a historical reference (baseline or datum point) for comparison
with the same sensor’s behavior in the future. The saved results can also be
sent to others (including Campbell Scientific support personnel) for evaluation
and troubleshooting purposes. Use the Off Line Analysis tab of DevConfig
(shown when disconnected from the CRVW3) to open and view a file saved
previously with the Save Last Results button. Refer to Section 8.1.6 ,

Use the Data Monitor tab in DevConfig to view frequency and temperature
data in both the Public table and the VW_Data table. The VW_Data table is
the final storage table used to persist measurements made by the CRVW3. You
should confirm that the data in the VW_Data table is updating immediately
after each measurement is made by the device. Refer to Section 8.1.6 , Testing
the Measurement Operation of the CRVW3
