LAN Emulation Client Administration Screen

LES ATM Address (Modifiable)

This field displays the address of the LAN Emulation Server with which the LEC registers. If 
the LEC is configured manually, the LES ATM Address must be entered in this field manually. 

LECS ATM Address (Modifiable)

This field displays the ATM address of the LAN Emulation Configuration Server (LECS). It is 
not necessary to enter the LECS address. Some network configurations, however, may have 
more than one LECS. To specify which LECS to which the LEC will connect, the address 
must be entered in this field. If the LEC will be created automatically, it will default to the 
wellknown LECS address.

SET WELLKNOWN (Command)

This command, when performed, sets the LEC Status, the Configure ELAN, ELAN Name and 
LECS Address fields to the following values:

•

Configure ELAN is set to Automatic

•

ELAN Name is empty

•

LECS Address is set to the wellknown LECS ATM Address

When the SAVE command is then executed, the LEC is created.

SAVE (Command)

This command saves all changes to memory.

2.23.2 Configuring the LEC Automatically 

To configure the LEC automatically, perform the following steps:

1.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the LEC Status field.

2.

Press the SPACE bar until the “Active” option displays.

3.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the SET WELLKNOWN command.

4.

Press ENTER.

5.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the Configure ELAN field.

NOTE

The LECS ATM Address field does not display if the LEC is configured manually. 
Instead, the field reads LES ATM Address. If the LEC is configured manually, it is 
not possible to enter the LECS ATM Address.

NOTE

Steps

 are optional, and should only be performed if the user wishes to 

specify which ELAN the LEC should join, and to which LECS the LEC should 
connect.
