WINDSCREEN WASHER PUMP AND RESERVOIR

—LUCAS TYPE 9SJ

Electric washer system only

—Overhaul

84.10.24

It is not advisable to attempt to overhaul the pump

assembly. If the pump operation is suspect repair by
replacement of the complete pump and cover assembly.

The motor is a sealed unit and can not be serviced. It is

possible  to  dismantle  and  clean  the  interior of the  pump
as  detailed  below  but  no  individual  Stanpart  spare  parts
are  available.

Dismantle

1. Rotate the cover anti-clockwise to release the

bayonet fitting. Lift the pump and cover assembly

from the reservoir.

2. Remove two screws.

3. Lift off the pump housing.

4.  Carefully withdraw  the  rotor and  rotor drive plate.
5.  Lift  out the  rubber  ‘O’  ring.
6.  Lift  off the  seal  housing.
7.  Withdraw  the  seal  from  the  shaft.
8.  Remove the  plate.
9.  Withdraw  the  small  rubber disc from  the  shaft.

Assemble

10. Reverse instructions 1 to 9.
