Window care
You c an use w ind ow and glass c leaner
to c lean insid e w ind ow surfac es and
m irrors w ithout sm earing and streaking.
Never use p olishing p astes or ab rasive
(q uartz) c leansers on m irror lenses.
Clean the w ip er b lad es w ith soap y
w ater. The w ip er b lad es should b e
rep lac ed tw ic e a year, b efore and after
the c old season.
Use only w ip er b lad es that have
b een ap p roved b y B M W.

Caring for other vehicle
components and materials
Light- alloy w heels should b e treated
w ith alloy w heel c leaner, esp ec ially
d uring the w inter m onths. How ever, d o
not use aggressive p rod uc ts c ontaining
ac id s, strong alkalis or ab rasives. Do
not use steam c leaners op erating at
tem p eratures ab ove + 140

Follow the m anufac turer's instruc tions.
If your vehic le has c hrom e p arts

as w ind ow m old ings, d oor hand les or
other item s, c lean these p arts c arefully
w ith am p le c lean w ater, esp ec ially if
they have an ac c um ulation of road salt.
Use c hrom e p olish as an ad d itional
treatm ent.
Plastic c om p onents, vinyl up holstery,
head liners, lam p lenses, the c lear c over
of the instrum ent c luster and c om p o-
nents w ith a sp rayed d ull b lac k surfac e
c an b e c leaned w ith w ater (ad d p lastic
c leaner as req uired ). Do not allow m ois-
ture to soak through the seats or head -
liner. Never use solvents suc h as
lac q uer thinner, heavy- d uty grease
rem over, fuels, etc .
Rub b er c om p onents should b e c leaned
w ith w ater only; a rub b er treatm ent or
silic one sp ray m ay also b e ap p lied .
The safety b elts should b e c leaned w ith
a m ild soap and w ater solution w ithout
b eing rem oved from the vehic le. Never
attem p t c hem ic al or d ry c leaning, as
d am age to the b elt fab ric c ould result.
After c leaning, never allow the inertia
reel to retrac t the b elts until they are
c om p letely d ry. Dirty safety b elts
p revent the inertia reel m ec hanism from
retrac ting the strap p rop erly, and thus
c onstitute a safety hazard .
