Liftgate
To close
You c an p ull the liftgate d ow n b y
p lac ing b oth hand s in the hand le
rec esses (arrow s).
To avoid injuries, b e sure that the
travel p ath of the liftgate is c lear
w hen it is c losed , as w ith all c losing
p roc ed ures.

When the liftgate is op en, the
d im ension from the ground to
the up p er ed ge is m ore than 6.5 ft
(tw o m eters). Please keep this in m ind
w hen op ening the liftgate (in a garage,
for exam p le).

Op erate the vehic le only w hen
b oth gates are c om p letely c losed .
Otherw ise, exhaust fum es c ould p ene-
trate the interior of the vehic le. Should it
b e ab solutely nec essary to op erate the
vehic le w ith an op en gate:
>
Close all w ind ow s. Shut the slid ing/
tilt sunroof.
>
Inc rease the air sup p ly for the air
c ond itioner or autom atic c lim ate
c ontrol to a high level. Refer to
p age
102 or p age 109 .

Luggage straps
Use the retaining strap s on the c argo
area floor to sec ure sm aller item s of
luggage.
M ovem ent is red uc ed w hen ob jec ts are
p lac ed on the strap s.
The lashing eyes loc ated at the c orners
of the c argo area p rovid e you w ith a
c onvenient m eans of attac hing luggage
nets

or flexib le strap s for sec uring
suitc ases and luggage.
